Scheduling Your Dental Appointments During the Holidays

Nov 25 2019

We all know how busy the holidays can be. Loved ones are visiting, you have gifts to purchase for family and friends, and there’s always more cooking to do for the parties and get-togethers you’ve been invited to.

Despite the holiday cheer, the holiday season can be a little overwhelming! Let us ease some holiday stress by helping you figure out how and when to schedule all your dentist appointments around this busy season.

Dentist Appointments During the Holidays

This is one of the best times of the year to take your kids to the dentist, mainly because school is out and you have time for it. Even if you don’t have time due to holiday preparation and celebrations, you should consider bringing your little ones in for a checkup.

This will help us determine if they’ve maybe had too many sweets during this festive time, help them get a good start for the new year, and ensure you won’t have to worry about it until next season!

As you can see on this Google trends analysis below, it shows that people are generally looking for “children’s dentist” online extremely infrequently during December.

Obviously, people probably aren’t wanting to go to the dentist the same week as Christmas. However, as you can see in this same image, the weeks leading up to Christmas are also extremely low, especially in comparison to January when everyone is going for the new year and before school begins again.

Is this your first visit with us? Here’s a quick guide on how to prepare for your child’s first visit to the dentist.

Other Benefits of Scheduling in December

This is right at the end of the year, which means you have either hit your deductible or are about to. What better reason to make appointments than the fact they will be mostly free?

Use Your FSA or HSA

Do you have an FSA? Your FSA requires that you spend whatever contributions you put in it that year before the year is up, so if you’re looking for a way to spend those last few dollars, this could be a great appointment to check off your list.

Learn more about FSA’s and how they differ from HSA’s (health savings accounts) here and see if you might be eligible to use either with us.

Fit Your Errands in After Your Visit

Need to catch up on some holiday shopping? Good news! Depending on which one of our 14 locations you go to, there are plenty of small shops and businesses near us that you can immediately visit after your appointment.

The Dentist Is Less Busy

Additionally, the office will be less busy in December so your little superhero will have more time to hang out with us! We can answer any and all questions as well as give your child special attention that we otherwise might not be able to.

The final perk of coming in December is that you can achieve a brief break from any holiday stress. Take some time to recoup and let us handle the work!
